Underwhelmed

I'm learning
That I'm lacking
And yet I've no yearning
Or desire
To correct my failures
Nor am I inspired
To find what it requires
To be a slightly better
Version
Of the person
I was hoping
Would be the person
I'd turn out to be.

  1. Reminds me of the quote attributed to George Elliot: It is never too late to be what you might have been. Hope that's true.

  3. This may be a hard road for you then...now who can you blame it on? (Hopefully you meant this to be funny)

  4. I'm not sure if you're talking about teaching, but if you are, I think I've met a few teachers who have ths kind of disappointment and lack of concern. None, I believe, would admit it.

    1. I stretched the theme a bit, i suppose. From teaching to learning. Its more of an inability to teach myself really :)

  5. Nice ring to this poem. It could be set to music, don't you think?

  6. This came across kind of humorous to me. I'm sure if it's supposed but I like the "I am what I am" feeling it has to it.
